Econometrica conducted an evaluation of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services’ PfP 2.0 initiative. The objectives of the evaluation included providing feedback to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of operations, identifying the effect of the PfP 2.0 initiative on healthcare outcomes and spending, and validating hospitals that report exceptional reductions in adverse inpatient incidences and patient readmission rates.
