The Medicaid School-Based-Services: Technical Assistance Center (TAC) contract seeks to assist CMS and the U.S. Department of Education (ED) in ensuring that States understand CMS’ Delivering Services in School Based Settings: A Comprehensive Guide to Medicaid Services and Administrative Claiming 2023; promote proper payments for School-Based-Services (SBS) heath and administrative services; and support, clarify, and improve school Medicaid program oversight, administration, and claiming for State Medicaid agencies (SMAs) and their direct partners at State education agencies (SEAs), regional educational agencies, and local education agencies (LEAs). Additionally, the TAC seeks to assist and expand the capacity of SMAs, LEAs, and school-based entities to provide services under Medicaid. Activities supported by the TAC will include convening small group stakeholder calls with target audience members and schools located in small, rural communities, and developing specific resource materials tailored to the specific needs of those communities.
