Section 508 Compliance

Our expert staff provides comprehensive support to help clients comply with Section 508 and to ensure that our deliverables meet Section 508 specifications while maintaining high-quality standards.

About Section 508

Econometrica understands the importance of Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 (as amended). We understand that, regardless of the format, all web content and print materials produced under Federal contract that include text, graphics, audio, or video must conform to applicable Section 508 standards to allow anyone with disabilities to access information that is comparable to information provided to persons without disabilities.

Our expert staff provides comprehensive support to help clients comply with Section 508 and to ensure that our deliverables meet Section 508 specifications while maintaining high-quality standards. Econometrica consistently integrates Section 508 guidelines into all aspects of our work by creating templates and color schemes and selecting platforms that support equal access to electronic and information technology (EIT).

Econometrica is highly skilled and experienced in preparing documents that are Section 508 compliant. We are experienced in Section 508 compliance review for multiple platforms, including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel; Adobe Acrobat; and multimedia formats such as recordings and webinars. We have provided Section 508 compliant deliverables and reports to many Government entities, such as the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), and National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

We maintain an automated Section 508 team compliance help desk which immediately notifies our Section 508 experts of new requests for compliance review and validation. To ensure the highest level of accessibility across these standards, our Section 508 team uses CommonLook Global Access and PDF Accessibility Checker 3.0 to confirm that all documents meet or exceed the “Accepted” standard. We rely on PDF/Universal Accessibility (UA) or Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.0) as our primary accessibility standards. Using these standards, our team has successfully performed Section 508 accessibility checks on all publicly released presentations for Econometrica’s work.
