Highlights of Audits & Review Projects

Ginnie Mae Risk Management Support

TASK: Under different Task Orders, provided financial statement reviews of issuers of mortgage-backed securities (MBS) to monitor net worth, liquidity, and capital requirements; risk management support for Master Subservicer operational, audit and strategic activities; and other improvements to Ginnie Mae’s capabilities for monitoring counterparty risks.

RESULTS: Improvement of Ginnie Mae’s ability to identify, assess, and mitigate risks in their MBS portfolio and overall operations.

Enterprise Statistician Services for Universal Service Administrative Company (USAC)

TASK: Provided statistical sampling and extrapolation services for the USAC Payment Quality Assurance (PQA) Internal Audit Division, Schools and Libraries (SL) Program, Billed Entity Applicant Reimbursements (BEARs), and High Cost Mobility Fund (High Cost).

RESULTS: These services enable USAC to verify payments made to companies providing broadband services to under-served households in mostly rural locations.

USTRANSCOM Working Capital Fund Audits

TASK: Provided audit support, including statistical sampling and analysis, to Sikich for the financial audit of the U.S. Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM), which is the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) agency responsible for managing the nation’s global defense transportation system.

RESULTS: With Econometrica’s support, Sikich has been able to minimize audit samples, complete its audit, and issue its audit opinion on USTRANSCOM’s financial statements in a timely fashion for the past decade.
