Impacts, Strengths, Limitations, and Lessons Learned

On February 12, 2018, Econometrica’s project manager, Jill Simmerman, presented Partnership for Patients (PfP) stakeholder interview findings at the 2018 CMS Quality Conference in Baltimore, MD. Ms. Simmerman’s presentation findings and June Chang’s graphic facilitation of the session were featured as the Social Media Moment of Day 1 of the conference during the Day 1 Recap on February 13. In her interactive presentation, Ms. Simmerman summarized the foundation of providing quality improvement technical assistance and provided examples from the PfP stakeholders. This includes (1) focusing on what matters, (2) meeting your audience where they are, and (3) creating a culture of constant improvement.

Ms. Simmerman also highlighted key elements of engaging people in technical assistance for quality improvement. The key elements include (1) engaging leadership, (2) providing tailored support, (3) involving all staff, (4) creating peer-to-peer learning collaboratives, and (5) using the patient’s voice.
