Econometrica will design an online training program for infection preventionists and antibiotic stewardship
Using best learning practices, Econometrica’s team will build a web-based training program to educate and support healthcare providers. This program will help prevent illnesses and reduce costs in long-term care facilities (LTCFs).
Bethesda, MD, October 2017
Econometrica, Inc., was recently awarded a contract by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to build an online training program for healthcare professionals working in LTCFs. Econometrica will work with our partners—Qualidigm, Hendall, and Dr. Ed Septimus—to create a program to teach best safety practices. Our team will use Federal standards to create a customized curriculum and assessment tools for LTCF staff to receive continuing education credit.
The two purposes of this contract are (1) to standardize infection surveillance processes in LTCFs and (2) to enhance antibiotic stewardship, which will lead to improved national infection prevention systems. Infection preventionists and other LTCF staff who take the web-based trainings will have the opportunity to receive continuing education credits for completing the courses and passing the training assessment. This contract aligns with CDC’s mission and with the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services’ (HHS) goals under the National Action Plan to Prevent Health Care-Associated Infections: Roadmap to Elimination.
“Econometrica has worked on the CMS Post-Acute Care Training program and Partnership for Patients, and we are honored to continue building experience in this important field. We strive to promote patient care by educating, supporting, and training infection preventionists. We will work hard to create and implement an innovative and accessible education program,” said Econometrica’s President and CEO, Cyrus Baghelai.
